Pelican Village Barbados

Pelican Village originally named Pelican Island, is a shopping village located on the outskirts of Bridgetown. Pelican Island was an uninhabited island which was joined to Barbados when the Bridgetown Port was built. It was then used by ships as a Quarantine facility for sick passengers and crew members. Pelican Island was renovated and renamed Pelican Village in 1999. Today Pelican Craft Center and Village is the largest center dedicated to arts and craft in the region.
