Whit Monday is a holiday observed in Barbados. The name represents the white garments worn by people who were baptized on the day. June 01st, 2020 is the day set aside for this year’s Whit Monday. Though it’s no longer a public holiday in a growing number of former British countries, it remains as such in Barbados where the majority of commercial businesses and schools are closed, and celebrations typically take effect. However, there are no grand festivities or traditions associated with this holiday, with the exception of countless Church services on the day of Pentecost where the congregation sings seasonal hymns and/or choruses.
