The Barbados Museum & Historical Society is pleased to announce the start of the 2020 Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, under the theme: “Buhbadus ta de World: Exploring the Origins and Legacy of Barbadian Migration.”

This Lecture Series will feature a roster of panel discussions and lectures starting March 11th and continuing every week until April 15th.

March 11th 2020 –   Sir Hilary Beckles – “Barbadians in the UK after 1945 “

March 18th 2020 – Pedro Welch –  “Barbadian Migration to the Guianas and Trinidad: Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Narrative”

March 25th 2020 – Frederick Alleyne – “Barbadian Migration to Brazil in the Early 20th Century”

April 1st 2020 – Sharon Marshall – “To Cuba and Back: Journeys from and to Barbados.”

April 8th 2020 – Velma Newton – “The Barbados Panama Narrative”

April 15th 2020 – David Browne – “Barbadian Migration to the USA”

In light of the COVID-19 threat all upcoming lectures will now be conducted without an audience in attendance, instead, they will be made available via Livestreams on the Facebook page (@BarbadosMuseum) or the Youtube Channel (The Barbados Museum & Historical Society) 6:00 p.m.
