Music Afternoon at Cutters with Jerry Roberts

September 1, 2019

September 29, 2019

12:30 pm

Cutters Restaurant, Crane, St. Philip

Event Description

Singer/guitarist Jerry Roberts will entertain you with his eclectic mix of jazz, blues and reggae.

A Cutter is the traditional Bajan sandwich: a hearty salt bread roll with a healthy serving of flying fish, ham, or New Zealand cheddar, to name a few favorites. Add to these ingredients a country store with easy deli, wines, and peaceful music, and you’ve found Cutters of Barbados.

Come out and sing, play along or just come and enjoy. Music selections from your favorite Crop Over songs!

Pass the Crane Hotel on your right and Cutters is 150 yards further along on your left.

This a street party with thousands of revelers jamming behind music trucks in the early hours of the morning.

Also known as ‘Mud Mas‘ revelers daub themselves with paint and mud and do their best to similarly daub their friends.

It’s a lot cooler at that time of morning!

Plenty of food and drink available.

Organised by the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), the event is expected to attract many bands of registered revelers. There’ll be many ‘unregistered’ as well!

Security is provided.

There are three starting points:

  • Queen’s Park, Bridgetown
  • Helipad in Bridgetown
  • The Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC), Pelican House, Princess Alice Highway, Bridgetown

It ends as usual at the Mighty Grynner Highway (formerly the Spring Garden).
