Event Description

The National Cultural Foundation, in association with The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) , presents the Crop Over BTMI Bridgetown By Night Heritage Walk.

This year, the walk will be under the theme Lick and Lock Up Done Wid.

This is a night time guided walk through and around the city of Bridgetown – the original ‘city that never sleeps.’

Each tour starts from Cavan’s Lane, and moves along a route that includes Fairchild Street, Bay Street, Nelson Street, back to Fairchild and over the Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge ending at Wharf Road.

Tour will be led by Writer/Historian, Morris Greenidge, Deputy Director of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, Kevin Farmer, and talented tour guide, Zuwena Perry.

Experience our rich heritage brought to life by performances by the Aguardian Quartet and the Barbados Dance Project.

The National Cultural Foundation presents 2020 Junior Kadooment & Fair on Saturday July 25th 2020.

The Junior Kadooment is a smaller version of the Grand Kadooment – without the street parade.
Bands of costumed juniors vie for titles and prizes.

The Children of Crop Over get their opportunity to parade in mass colour and splendor at Kensington Oval. The day will be filled with dreams and vision as we continue to safeguard the traditions of masquerade in the sweetest summer festival. The event features the parade of the Kings & Queens of the Junior Bands, The Parade of the Junior Bands, the Party Zone, Cool Down Zone & After Party.

Bands of costumed juniors vie for titles and prizes. Judging is based on portrayal, craftsmanship, presentation, originality and visual impact. Kensington Oval will provide a state of the art venue for the young masqueraders to parade and party. The event will also provide a family friendly environment for visitors to the island who wish to participate in the festival.
