It’s here again! Blazing Trails Hiking Association in collaboration with sponsors to presents Coast to Coast (C2C) Hike!

Join in as you hike across Barbados from coast to coast. Starting at Barclays Park in the east and travelling 11 miles through beautiful landscapes, hills, fields, gullies and watercourses on to the bustling tourist belt of the west coast culminating at Folkstone Marine Reserve & Park.
All are welcome, bring your family and friends, hikers and non-hikers.

The hikes are FREE but donations are welcome towards the work of the Barbados National Trust (preserving our built and natural environment).

Times
All morning hikes start at 6:00 a.m.
Afternoon hikes (Stop ‘n’ Stare only) start at 3:30 p.m.
The Moonlight Walks start at 5:30 p.m., you are advised to bring a torch to these walks.

There is a morning hike and, in addition, either an afternoon hike or a moonlight walk on every hike date EXCEPT the date of the Great Train Hike.

Place
All hikes start and finish at the meeting place.
There is a printed booklet with a calendar of the year’s hikes available from the National Trust at Wildey House, Wildey, St. Michael

Dress
Loose clothing, comfortable hiking boots/sports shoes, sunscreen, hat. Bring your camera and a bottle of water. Refreshments are on sale after the Hikes.

Walk Descriptions
In the morning, there are four hikes of different pace.
All hikes last approximately 3 hours., but…..
The Stop ‘n’ Stare group walks for 5-6 miles,
The Medium group 8-10 miles,
The Fast Medium group 10 to 12 miles, and
The Fast group 12-14 miles.

Advice for first time walkers
The sun is hot!  You will get tired more quickly than you think.
The best thing to do is to go on the Stop ‘n Stare on your first hike.
If you’re comfortable with that, work your way up.

The Barbados Kennel Club is today as dedicated to the promotion and welfare of pedigree dogs as it was in its beginnings in Queen’s Park in 1951.

The pedigree dog scene is promoted by the holding of championship shows which give breeders and owners the opportunity to “show case” their dogs for the public. Entries can come from as many as twenty different breeds – ranging from the tiny Papillons to the giant Great Danes, and Bullmastiffs.

The dates of the shows are:

  • 19th March 2023 – All Breed Championship Dog Show, Waterford (Judge: Paul Harding, UK)
  • 8th October 2023- All Breed Championship Dog Show, Waterford (Judge: Graham Hill, UK)
  • 19th November 2023- All Breed Championship Dog Show, Waterford (Judge: Patsy Hollings, UK)
