The Barbados Museum and Historical Society hosts a meeting of The History Group.
The History Group meets periodically and is intended to provide a platform for researchers of Barbadian History, Heritage and Culture to present their findings and other research to the members and invited guests of the Society.
Topic: Oral Histories of Sites of the Transatlantic Slave Trade: Northern and Central Region of Ghana.
Featured Speaker: Ms. Natasha Bynoe
This presentation will discuss Ms. Bynoe's travels to Ghana and Burkina Faso to record the various narratives passed down generations of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and slave raids that happened well into the first quarter of the 20th century. The presentation will also encompass an analysis and a visual of the monuments used during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and beyond.
