Drift Gallery presents an Art Exhibition by Maria Stanford
Depicting various landscapes throughout the island - from River Bay in St. Lucy to Nelson Street in Bridgetown - this exhibition includes seascapes, elegant nudes and still life scenes.
About the Artist: Keen on art from school days at The Christ Church Foundation School, Maria Stanford pursued Fine Arts at The Barbados Community College; after which, she studied Interior Design at the In-ternational Fine Arts College in Miami. Her Interior Design career spans nearly 30 years. However, in 2015 a deep interest in fine art began to blossom and then flourish when she attended the National Cultural Foundation’s En Plein Air Workshops which were tutored by Barbadian master artists. Maria has had the privilege of participating in outdoor sessions with the late Fielding Babb. Recently, she has launched her “Bodega Series” of still life paintings which depict our favourite island foods in her own expressionistic style.
