BMHS Lecture Series 2017: Without An Education in Your Head… You Are Better Off Dead

The Barbados Museum and Historical Society series is entitled “Without An Education in Your Head… You Are Better Off Dead”: The Evolution of the Educational System in Barbados: Challenges and Opportunities. 

The Lecture Series will run until Apr 25th with the following lectures:

Mar 14th
The Challenges and Contribution of the Private Schools Since 1950 - Professor Pedro Welch

Mar 21st
The Development of Teacher Training - Dr. Henderson Carter

Mar 28th
Lecture and Panel Discussion: Educating the Differently Able - Challenges, Impact and Prospects
Lecture by: Dr Henderson Carter
Panelists: Dr. Junie Lynch, Wilmont Straughan, Senator Kerry-Ann Ifill
Moderator: Tracey Knight-Lloyd

Apr 4th
The Museum as an Educational Resource - Ms Alissandra Cummins

Apr 11th
The Development, Challenges and Contribution of the Caribbean Examination Council - Glenroy Cumberbatch

Apr 18th
Developments in Tertiary Education Since 1963 - Dr. Glenford Howe

The series will end on Apr 25th with a Panel Discussion entitled Changing Educational Policy Since 1950
Panelists: Dr David Browne and Dr Patrick Rowe

All lectures take place at the Queen's Park Steel Shed and begin at 7:15 p.m.
