The Barbados Open Water Festival (BOWF) 2017 once again takes place in beautiful Carlisle Bay.

The 5th Barbados Open Water Festival is organised by Swim Barbados Vacations

Open Water swim events (1.5km, 3.3km, 5km, 10km and 'Just for Fun' swim races) plus stand up paddle board races and kayak team relay races.

Swimmers from 12 countries are confirmed - Brazil, USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Costa Rica, USVI, Antigua, Trinidad and Barbados.

A wonderful mix of recreational swimmers, competitive junior and master swimmers, triathletes, water polo players, swim club groups, Olympians, World Champions and elite swimmers will all line up together from start to finish.

Former pro triathletes Eney Jones and Alison Hayden (US) along with Taylor Parker (CAN) will be looking to defend their 2016 titles in the 1.5K, 5K and 10K races.

Several Olympians will be in the water: Canadians Katie Brambley and Tera Van Beilen who swam in 2016 will join first-timer Ashley Whitney, first female US Olympian to swim the Barbados Open Water Festival.
