This year, Barbados will be hosting CARIFESTA XIII.
The theme of CARIFESTA XIII is Asserting Our Culture, Celebrating Ourselves
CARIFESTA represents a special time when Caribbean people celebrate their culture, unique practices, customs and expressions that define them as a people. It will be a pot pourri of cultural expression from all participating CARICOM countries.
In this 13th edition, Barbados will showcase its culture with the rest of the world.
Besides the usual Queen's Park Gallery Visual Arts Gallery Exhibition, there will be programme of performing arts (music, theatre, dance, poetry); visual arts, fashion, food and literature.
There will also be the anticipated launch the newly modelled Grand Market and Buyers' Shopping Mall at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, designed to showcase the emergence of the Caribbean Cultural and Creative Industries.
